The Azhikkakathu family is a branch of the ancient Syrian  Christian family by the name ‘ Karamoottil ‘ of Kidangannur, near Aranmula in Pathanamthitta district   of Kerala State where-from an ancestor named Ninan Ninan settled down at Ayroor in the year 1842(app). The ‘Azhikkakathu’ family traces its origin to him. The descendants of this forefather are now in the seventh generation after him. According to Genesis 12: 2 "I will make of you a great nation, and I will bless you, and make your name great; and you shall be a blessing." The Azhikkakathu family thanks our merciful Lord for being our refuge and fortress for generations.

The main objective of this website is to connect the global Azhikkakathu family by leveraging technology .We sincerely hope and pray that this site would help Azhikkakathu family connect and get to know each member of the family at a personal level and interact with them on a regular basis using modern technology and tools particularly with those whom we have never had a chance to meet or get connected with before.

The need to start the Azhikkakathu Kudumbayogam was always in the thoughts of its members ever since the efforts made by a few of our elders to start a kudumbayogam of the larger family ‘ Karamoottil ‘  could not progress. This need was always further discussed upon and it was felt that a kudumbayogam of ‘Azhikkakathu’ family of Ayroor may be started pending the formation of the larger kudumbayogam of Karamoottil family. Discussions were held among the representatives of all the branches of the Azhikkakathu family, both formally and informally and it was decided to start the Kudumbayogam. Every branch of the family has made efforts towards this direction by encouraging one another, collecting information and organizing the list of the family who now have spread their reach not only outside Kerala, but outside India as well in a significant way.The Azhikkakathu family from far and near have been participating in the Kudumbayogam regularly every year since 2010.
